Climatic health resort Reit im Winkl According to Wikipedia, the title of climatic health resort is awarded to "places whose air and climate, according to an expert opinion, have properties that are conducive to relaxation and health." Reit im Winkl was named a climatic health resort in 1956 and since then has repeatedly fulfilled the requirements for the expert opinion through its endeavours. Firstly, the altitude, which ensures that the summer heat is moderate and the nights remain pleasantly cool. The town is surrounded by extensive mountain forests in the Chiemgau Alps and is part of the "Bavarian Alps" climate district. The character of the weather is decisively determined by the conditions, i.e. by the influence of the mountain ranges and the valley incisions on the weather. In addition to the natural conditions for good air, we actively ensure that the good mountain air is preserved by using natural warmth or offering plenty of buses.

By car: Coming from Munich, take the Munich-Salzburg motorway (A8) to the "Bernau" exit, continue on the newly upgraded German Alpine Road (B305) to Reit im Winkl Coming from Salzburg, take the "Traunstein/Ruhpolding" exit and continue via Ruhpolding to Reit im Winkl.
