Environment description
Reit im Winkl climatic health resort According to Wikipedia, the title of climatic health resort is awarded to 'localities whose air and climate, according to an expert opinion, have properties that are conducive to relaxation and health.' Reit im Winkl was designated a climatic health resort in 1956 and has since repeatedly fulfilled the requirements for the expert opinion through its efforts. On the one hand, its altitude ensures that the summer heat is moderate and the nights remain pleasantly cool. The town is surrounded by extensive mountain forests in the Chiemgau Alps and, in terms of its general climate, belongs to the 'Bavarian Alps' climate district. The weather is largely determined by the conditions, i.e. the influence of the mountain ranges and valley incisions on the weather patterns. In addition to the natural conditions for good air quality, we actively ensure that the good mountain air is preserved with natural heating and an extensive bus service.

Arrival Description
By car to Reit im Winkl: Coming from Munich on the A8 motorway, take the Grabenstätt exit. From there, take the B305 (Deutsche Alpenstraße) to Reit im Winkl (27 km). An alternative route is the Inntal motorway. Turn off at the Inntaldreieck junction just before Rosenheim and take the Oberaudorf exit. From there, take Austrian federal highway 172 to Reit im Winkl. Coming from Salzburg, take the motorway (A8) to the Inzell-Ruhpolding exit and continue via Ruhpolding to Reit im Winkl. By train to Reit im Winkl: The nearest train station is in Prien am Chiemsee. From here, you have the best bus connections (RVO bus line 9505) to Reit im Winkl. By plane: Munich Airport is approx. 140 km and Salzburg Airport approx. 70 km from Reit im Winkl.
