Following a complete renovation, we will reopen in December 2025 - modernized, thoughtfully designed, and created with a deep passion for quality and tranquillity. As an adults-only retreat, we offer space for true relaxation. With just 10 rooms, our house combines alpine charm with elegant design. Generous layouts, king-size beds, fine wood accents, and modern bathrooms with walk-in showers ensure comfort from the very beginning. Mountain views are included in many rooms. We are particularly proud of our new sauna area, offering privacy and variety: a classic Finnish sauna, gentle sanarium, and soothing infrared cabin provide the perfect relaxation for every preference. This makes our house an ideal place for mindful relaxation - even with a small number of guests. Another highlight: our new indoor pool, currently under construction and available from February 2026. We are officially rated 4 stars by DEHOGA e.V., and offer high-quality yet down-to-earth comfort with a personal touch. Whether you're looking for a wellness escape, a long weekend, or an active hiking holiday -our Gästehaus is your haven of peace in the Bavarian Alps. Your advantage as our guest: We are a partner rental company/business of the Reit im Winkl Swimming Card. This gives you the opportunity to receive additional free services in addition to our own services, such as free admission to the Reit im Winkl outdoor pool and the Kössen forest swimming pool. In winter, the slopes of the Steinplatte-Winklmoosalm ski area and nearby Kössen (Austria) offer ideal conditions - family-friendly and snow-reliable. Cross-country skiers will find one of Bavaria's best trail networks, including high-altitude tracks on the Hemmersuppenalm.

our Host - Where Tradition Meets Modern Comfort Since 2024, the Gästehaus am Hauchen has been run by our dedicated host, who took over the property from her parents and guided it through a comprehensive renovation. Her vision is to combine the traditional character of the house with contemporary expectations. She aims to preserve the charm of a family-run establishment while bringing it thoughtfully into the present - with well-designed details, high-quality standards, and an atmosphere that makes every guest feel welcome from the very first moment. She values a professional yet personal host-guest relationship. Authentic, attentive, and warm-hearted - this is how she strives to make every stay truly special.

Arrival Description

CAR: Reit im Winkl is easily accessible from all directions: From the north (Munich, Rosenheim): Take the A8 motorway towards Salzburg until the Bernau am Chiemsee exit, then continue via Grassau - Marquartstein - Reit im Winkl. From the west (Inntal, Kufstein): Take the B172 from Kufstein - Walchsee - Kössen to Reit im Winkl (please note that tolls may apply on the Austrian side). From the east (Salzburg, Traunstein): Take the B305 from Inzell - Ruhpolding - Schneizlreuth - Reit im Winkl. From the south (Kitzbühel, St. Johann in Tirol): Take the B176 towards Kössen, then continue to Reit im Winkl In the village, follow the signs towards Hauchen. Our guesthouse is located at the end of the street "Am Hauchen" on the right-hand side. Free parking is available directly at the house. Note: Some navigation devices will take you along narrow side roads. We recommend paying attention to the signs in the town center and following the main road towards Hauchen. Bus & Train: The nearest train station is in Prien am Chiemsee (direct connection Munich - Salzburg). From there, you have the following options: Continue by regional bus (RVO line 9505) via Bernau, Grassau, Marquartstein to Reit im Winkl Or take a taxi (travel time approx. 35-40 minutes) The nearest bus stop is Reit im Winkl - Tourist Info. From there, you can reach our guesthouse in about 5 minutes on foot. The bus stop Reit im Winkl - Rathaus is about a 10-minute walk away.
